History and motivation
Sustainable Consulting was established in 2001 to help progress the sustainability agenda in WA and beyond. We wanted to promote and help realise the benefits from pursuing environmental, social and economic objectives in parallel.
As we gained experience working with clients, it became clear that activating sustainability was more of a strategic process than a technical discipline. This led to facilitation becoming a central part of our practice, which in turn enabled us to successfully complete assignments across a broad range of sectors and subjects.
Today our practice focuses on five services we’re passionate about and which our clients tell us create value:
- Group facilitation
- Strategy development
- Project implementation
- Stakeholder engagement
- Sustainability activation.
Our practice comprises two key members. Craig Salt founded Sustainable Consulting and leads most client assignments. Kris Barnes sometimes leads and often contributes to client assignments, particularly those involving project implementation. Craig and Kris have worked together since 1999 and are close friends.
We also have a variety of experienced and like-minded associates in our network who are able to assist on larger assignments.
